How to Make Multicolored Conchas

In this short tutorial I will show you a technique for creating multicolored topping for your conchas.  This technique is simple and will allow you to create endless color combinations for your conchas.

Gryffindor conchas, harry potter conchas, multicolored conchas

If you are a Harry Potter fan, these colors might look familiar to you. I will be honest with you- I have never seen Harry Potter so my knowledge on it is extremely limited. What I do know: Harry Potter is a wizard, there are 4 houses, and my cousin’s favorite house is Gryffindor.

I recently also learned that Robert Pattinson is in it (so maybe I should watch it…) If I watch them I’ll come back and edit this post! 🙂

Since my cousin’s favorite house is Gryffindor and these conchas were for her birthday I used Gryffindor colors.

Simple Technique for Multicolored Conchas

  1. Separate your concha topping into your preferred colors. For these conchas I  used 3: Burgundy, Autumn Gold, and White. All colors are by The Sugar Art.
  2. Create 2-5 rods of small pieces of topping.
  3. Flatten out the rods.
  4. Place the flattened topping on top of each piece of dough
  5. Score with bread stamp.

6. Flatten out some white colored topping and cut out the letter M with a small cookie cutter.

*This part is optional: I wanted to further customize the conchas for my cousin so I added her initial.

7. Place the letter on top of the topping.

8. Follow the baking process as outlined in my conchas tutorial
